Royal Challengers were the visitors to Taplow on Sunday, providing excellent opposition in a well contested game. Winning the toss, Royal Challengers chose to bat on what was a very hot, sunny afternoon.
In a 40 over match, Challengers scored 197 all out. In reply Taplow made a good start, with Simon Goodrham scoring 68 before being caught in the deep. However the Challengers attack took wickets leaving with Taplow needing 14 from the last over – but falling short on 189 for 7. Sandeep Bassi finished on 24 not out.
Colts Jack Lefley and James Weston-Kaye both had good afternoons in the field and with the bat. Jack bowled well for Taplow, whilst James had a hot afternoon behind the stumps, and both contributed runs with the bat.
In the end a win for Royal Challengers in a match enjoyed by both sides despite the hot weather.
