Another week, and another century for the Sunday team, when a rare away trip ended in a high scoring draw against Little Missenden Misfits.
The Misfits batted first and scored 244-5 declared from 38 overs. The openers dominated the scoring with Ben King the top scorer with 91 while his partner Jonny Bellwood contributed 56.
In reply, Taplow were just unable to reach the target, running out of time and overs on 225-7 from 36 overs.
Father and son Sandeep and Sanjoy Bassi opened the batting for Taplow. Sandeep was caught on 11, but Sanjoy went on to reach his century, finally being out on 113. Sanjoy also did well with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 40 from seven overs. Simon Goodrham came in and looked in good form with 41 runs. But in the end the match ended in a high scoring draw.
We had the unusual sight of Greg Lightfoot padded up and ready to come in and save the game – but in the end he was not needed! An enjoyable afternoon of cricket.
