After a wet Saturday, the weather was improved for Taplow’s annual long standing Sunday fixture against Harrowdene.

Taplow won the toss and elected to bat. It looked a good decision, as opener Dale Barton reached a century, before retiring on 104 not out. Sanjoy Bassi scored 75 not out in a Taplow total of 240 for 3 from 40 overs. There was a delay due to rain but an early tea was taken, with little time being lost.

Taplow opened their bowling attack with a young line up, including two colts who made an impact and took their first senior wickets. Jack Lefley to two wickets for 13 runs from 6 overs and Ethan Duckworth 1 wicket for 8 runs from 5 overs, including a maiden and wicket maiden.

Tight bowling restricted Harrowdene to 76, giving victory to Taplow in an enjoyable afternoon of cricket.

Thanks to Ella Goodrham for scoring. The Goodrhams were well represented with father Simon and brother Tyler in the Taplow team.
